Why I Write, or Not里面,他说: ... historically art and literature are as natural as the migration of birds or the inevitable collision of love and death. 关于写作,他有这样的建议: ... don't do it unless you're willing to give up your entire life ... And Einstein was on the money when he said that he had no admiration for scientists who select thin pieces of board and drive countless holes in them. You should always want your work to be better than your capabilities, since settling for less is a form of artistic AIDS.
《Legends of the Fall》(1976) -- may well be the best set of novellas to appear in this country during the last quarter century -- The New York Times Book Review 《The Raw and the Cooked》, and 《The Beast God Forgot to Invent》
